Wilshere spoke out against players like Adnan Januzaj being able to represent England
JACK WILSHERE was in an angry Twitter row with Kevin Pietersen yesterday because the debate over 'English' players intensified.

The Arsenal midfielder said soon that foreign-born footballers like Man Utd starlet Adnan Januzaj must not play for your Three Lions.

But South African-born Pietersen, who qualifies to try out cricket for England through his English mum, took exception.

He tweeted: "Jack Wilshere - interested to learn how we define foreigner...?

"Would offering me, (Andrew) Strauss, (Jonathan) Trott, (Matt) Prior, Justin Rose, (Chris) Froome, Mo Farah?" All seven of the stars were born outside the UK but still represent England or Britain of their respective sports.

Wilshere hit back during first minutes and replied: "Wonderful due respect Mr Pietersen the question was about Football! Cricket, cycling, Athletics just isn't my field!"

Pietersen then said: "Same difference.. It's about representing your country! In Almost Any SPORT!"

The Arsenal midfielder tweeted back: "Certainly thats what exactly i had been saying...." Just a few minutes later he deleted his tweets about the issue.

But Gary Lineker said: "Agree or not, it's helpful to hear a little daughter footballer prepared to say what he thinks. Stick to your needs guns, Jack Wilshere."
