Leverkusen's Stefan Kiessling

BERLIN - The German football federation (DFB) will talk to FIFA since it investigates Bayer Leverkusen's 2-1 win over Hoffenheim which featured an ambition that will not have been allowed.

Hoffenheim has lodged an appeal against Friday's Bundesliga result after losing the action to Stefan Kiessling's headed "goal," that was awarded despite clearly missing the target. The ball hit the outside the net and rolled into the goal by having a hole within the netting.

Kiessling said afterward, "I didn't really notice, I turned down however i was surprised to determine the ball in. I didn't understand how it got in."

The DFB says it'll consult both teams, the referee, its control committee and football's governing body FIFA "to clarify the legal position for such cases internationally."
